You like flying around and landing at freeware photorealistic El Hierro island and GCHI for X-Plane 9 and 10?
Then this is your chance. First here’s the photorealistic scenery of El Hierro island, the most western and southern of Canary Islands (Spain). It was made using Gmaps (great software) to capture images (at zoom 18) and Gimp to change levels, contrast, adjust coast lines and remove clouds from images.
Also, DDSTool/XGrinder to compress. The scenery is independent from mesh (it hasn’t mesh information inside it). Download and additional information can be found at X-Plane.Org’s dedicated web page.
Second, El Hierro has a national airport with GCHI ICAO. According to the same developer “This is a photorealistic version of El Hierro airport (in Canary Islands, Spain). Runway, taxiways and other terrain textures are like in real world.
Also, terminal, another buildings, objects, were made similar to real ones.” Found out more via this link.
