On behalf of Aviation Herald, ASN would like to bring you this sad news about a Boeing 737-800.
A Travel Service Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Travel Service Polska, registration OK-TVP performing flight 3Z-7127 from Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) to Katowice (Poland) with 179 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Katowice’s runway 27 at 18:33L (17:33Z) but overran the end of the runway and came to a stop with nose and right main gear on soft ground, the right main gear about half a meter off paved surface, the left main gear just about on paved surface.
No injuries occurred, the passengers disembarked through the rear doors via mobile stairs onto the runway. The nose wheels though visually undamaged sank nearly completely into soft ground.
The airport is currently closed and is estimated to reopen the following morning at 08:00L.
The airport reported the aircraft went off the runway during landing, the passengers disembarked onto the runway via the rear doors. There was little if any damage. (Source Aviation Herald)
