Column | What’s my next X-Plane Challenge?

Mar 14, 2013

In my previous X-Plane “Worth jumping to X-Plane” column, I tried to explain about the challenges you can expect when you decide to move from Microsoft Flight Simulator to X-Plane 10.

With this column, I’ll try to go slightly deeper, since I’ve found my way into XP10.20.

Curious? Perhaps you’ll find some interesting things.

  1. Hi, Angelique! I enjoyed your columns on the subject of switching to X-Plane! Regarding your comments about switching the default Carenado A36 plain white livery with the 60th Anniversary livery, I’d like to suggest a much easier way. Simply run the Plane-Maker program (included with X-Plane) and use the File/Open menu to open any airplane (.ACF) file. You’ll see the available liveries when you browse to the airplane of your choice. You can then select your desired livery and press the “Open Aircraft” button. Then, just select the File/Save option, and presto! – the next time you load that aircraft in X-Plane, you now have a new “default” livery!
    Cheers!

    Thanks Walker for this tip.
I’ll have a look into it and perhaps worth to highlight this in one of my next XP columns.
