In Progress … A AWG Simulations “CRJ Test Flight”

AWG Simulations offers you another WIP screenshots of their CRJ with the help of a test flight from Innsbruck to Zurich.
According to AWG “As you know we announced our high fidelity CRJ-100/200 aircraft series project a few days ago and a majority of the flight simulation community give it a warm welcome.”

The aircraft is still a very much work-in-progress and a lot has to be completed prior to a release. I received the latest build of the CRJ-200 external model and as such decided to go for my normal test flight, Innsbruck to Zurich.”

More information at the AWG dedicated web page or have a look for some screenshots at ASN’s Facebook.

  1. A couple of thoughts from someone who works with this aircraft every day…a dispatcher’s view.

You mention an autothrottle. The CRJ-200 doesn’t have autothrottle. It has preset thrust settings for takeoff and flex temperature (r-to) and APR for additional thrust in lieu of a single engine failure. Pitch is controlled in speed mode with the speed fixed and the throttles manually set to control the rate of climb/descent.

Also, you said you had to pull up sharply on touchdown…true to a point. The really odd part of this a/c is the fact that to get to a -700fpm rate of descent in the final descent stage, you are pitching down about 7-7.5 degrees until 50 feet off the deck, then you pull back to just slightly nose up. Part of this is the extreme nose heavy aspect of the aircraft.

I am very interested to see an excellent CRJ product for FSX. The JRRollin product for x-plane is pretty good, but if you don’t have x-plane?

Will you have as detail on avionics as you will on the exterior detail? Just curious…

You have a potentially fantastic product, one that will have a lot of following here in the USA and in Canada (AC Jazz has a whole lot of them)…let alone the Europe market.

Best of luck and if I can contribute in some small way, please let me know.
    All the best,
    Dave
